The first ever school festival of Sadar Hills was held today at Songpao-Lhinghat Memorial Higher Secondary School, Salem Sapormeina, reports our correspondent.
The grand event was attended by Thangjakam Misao, Vice Chairman ADC Sadar Hills, T Manihar Singh, Additional DC, Sadar Hill and SR Robert, Principal, Ideal English Senior Secondary School, Charhajare as presidium members.
The programme was organized under the theme 'Celebration of Unity' by Sadar Hills Private Schools Association (SHIPS) with the objectives to share a common platform to showcase the talents and rich cultural heritage of the school children of Sadar Hills and to provide a platform where the students can enjoy and get involved in recreational activities.
Teachers who have relentlessly worked for more than 20 years were also awarded during the programme.
Speaking at the occasion, Thangjakam Misao said that organising such festival will not only bring the students of different communities together but also help in building a peaceful society and preserving the rich cultural heritage of the State.
