Imphal, October 01 2016:
Without naming BJP, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has categorically stated that people need not vote for the political party which interferes in one's food habit.
The Chief Minister was speaking at a one day political conference held at ABBA Ground, Kshetrigao Mayai Leikai.
Ibobi stated that a large portion of the history of Manipur is a narrative of Congress party.
Congress party respects all religions and faiths.
That was why, secularism was made a cornerstone of the Indian Constitution.
The State has seen marked improvement in the law and order situation during the last 15 years of Congress rule.
At one time, people did not feel secure to go around Imphal city during night.
The same sense of insecurity has now disappeared.
Extortion from shops and Government employees which was rampant some years back has declined to zero level.
If the State should maintain its current pace of development, it is crucial to re-elect the Congress Government.
Without strengthening Congress party, the State can never progress, added the Chief Minister.
Among others, the political conference was also attended by MPCC president TN Haokip, Parliamentary Secretary Amin Shah, MLA M Prithiviraj, MLA N Loken, PDA Chairman T Mangibabu and MLA Fazur Rahim.
MLA N Loken said that the political party which appeared in media the most was not basically the strongest.
In each and every Assembly segment, four/five persons have been vying for BJP tickets.
This would certainly imply dissidence and rifts within BJP as and when tickets are allotted for the State Assembly election.
M Prithiviraj said that BJP is one party which is good at rhetoric only.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Maan Ki Baat programme tends to be Mang Ki Baat.
People need not put faith in a political party which believes more in propaganda.
MGNREGS which was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records was launched by UPA Government but the scheme has been reduced to a farce by the NDA Government.
This is a clear testimony of BJP's anti-poor attitude, Prithiviraj added.
