Harmony only with equitable development : Jayantakumar

Reiterating that there can be peace and harmony in Manipur only when there is equitable distribution of wealth and development, Minister of Health and Family Welfare L Jayantakumar has asserted that the ruling SPF government has been paying special attention in this regard.
Speaking as Chief Guest at the inaugural function of a newly constructed building of the Primary Health Centre at Akampat today, Jayantakumar observed that around a decade back, there were not many developmental activities in Manipur and the people in the hill areas suffered even more from such lack of development.
However, after the Congress led SPF government came to power; special attention has been able to pay towards equal development of both the hills and the valley districts.
The government is of the firm belief that there can be peace and harmony among the people only when there is equal development.
At one time, Jessami village, which shares border with Nagaland, used to be very backward.
But today, there is SDO office, SDPO, power sub-station and health centre in Jessami, the Minister pointed out.
The Health Minister also reiterated his assurance that around 280 doctors would be recruited to solve the problem of medical doctors in different parts of the state.
Development in health and education sectors is very important in any society.
Along with imparting quality education to children who are the future pillars of the society, we need to ensure their proper health care, the Minister noted.
In his presidential address, Deputy Chairman of State Planning Board Bijoy Koijam observed that the profession of the doctors is a dedicated service and the patients would be satisfied when the doctors get along with them with a sense of dedication to avoid the recurring incidents of clash between the doctors and patient parties.
There is also the need for giving incentive awards to dedicated nurses, the Deputy Chairman added.
Additional Director of Health Services Dr L Surchandra, who attended the function as Guest of Honour, informed that the new building of Akampat PHC has been constructed under funding from NLCPR.
A sum of around Rs 42 lakh have been spend on the construction work of the PHC building and another Rs 40 lakh on the quarters.
The inaugural function of the newly constructed PHC building was held under the aegis of Directorate of Health Services, government of Manipur.
