NPO hails ZU, MU

The Naga People's Organization (NPO) hailed the final decision and symbolic settlement under the Customary Law of Zeliangrong Union (AMN) and Maram Union in regard to the Maram incident where a student was brutally assaulted by some miscreants in the night of July 28.Lauding the efforts of both the Naga bodies, the District apex body stated that, such mutual settlement with applications of our aged old customary laws was welcomed by all and the case was amicably resolved in good faith between the two parties with timely intervention of the ZU and MU.
While calling for ending similar cases of assault or crime against any community in the District which can create communal disharmony, NPO warned that it will not tolerate any individual, group, organization or armed groups taking the law into their hands in dealing public issues.
Acknowledging the contribution of many individuals and social leaders in settling the Maram incident case, the NPO also urged the tribal organizations to abstain from inciting communal violence or calling agitation.
The apex bodies of Senapati District Naga People's Organization (NPO), Senapati District Student's Association (SDSA) and Senapati District Women's Association (SDWA) also welcomed the goodwill efforts of both the Tribe Hohos in resolving the infamous Maram incident.
