Anti-drug campaign begins at Tamenglong

Tamenglong, February 18 2020:
Indigenous Women and Children Foundation (IWCF) Tamenglong in collaboration with United Women Organisations Tamenglong (UWOT) kicked off an anti-drug poster campaign at Tamenglong today.
To reach wider audience, various posters were put up on the first day of Women Sports Festival being held in Tamenglong DHQs.
IWCF took up the initiative to spread awareness on ill effects of drug abuse as it has grave consequences on society.
Drug abuse is associated with numerous medical, psychiatric, psychological, spiritual, economic, social, family, and legal problems, creating a significant burden for the affected individuals, their families, and society, said officials of the IWCF.
The poster campaign aims to protect children and youth from any type of abuse and rehabilitate them.
It aims to educate children and youth about ill effects of drug-abuse.
The campaign will support effective treatment and rehabilitation systems, they said.
