Imphal, June 12 2011:
Former leaders of Kuki Inpi units along with chiefs' organisations have raised opposition to the recently held elections of Kuki Inpi, Tamenglong district and Jiribam sub-division.
In a joint statement issued here, former acting president of Kuki Inpi, Tamenglong & Jiri Zone Jangsat Haokip and the same unit's former acting general secretary Paolam Neihsel, along with Chiefs' Association Longpi Area chairman Kailal Gangte and Lasan (Tamei) chief Haopu Sitlhou, alleged that 42 out of a total of 51 villages did not get any circular/notice with regard to the Inpi elections held on June 6 .
Consequently, leaders and representatives of the 42 left-out villages at a meeting convened on June 7 decided against endorsing the said election and to submit objection/complaint letter to president Kuki Inpi Manipur.
The joint statement also alleged violation of various norms governing conduct of Inpi elections.
