Heroin, fake currency notes seized

Acting on specific inputs, a combined team of BSF Lunglei, Mizoram and anti-narcotics personnel of Aizawl PS seized 17 hawngs/packets of heroin worth Rs 1.25 cr in the international market at Bawngkawn under Aizawl PS yesterday.
The team apprehended one Burmese identified as Tinsiampauva (32) of Tahan, Myanmar and one Indian Lalnunzira (25) of Champhai, a BSF statement said.
The contraband is a golden triangle product but it was separated and packed in a soap case of different colours- pink, green, blue, red, etc to bluff enforcement agencies.
The contraband item was smuggled into Mizoram by the Burmese to be handed over to Lalnunzira for local distribution and further smuggling to Barak valley.
In an unrelated incident, a combined team of BSF DC/G team Lunglei and Mizoram police seized Fake Indian currency notes of Rs 1,84,000 of 1000 denomination at Demagiri.
The currency was brought from Bangladesh by one Bangladeshi TM Chakma (32) and was to be handed over to one Indian Sandalay (43) of Lungsen, Lunglei.
Both of them were arrested along with their mobile phones.
The former served as supplier to FICN racketeers in Mizoram and the later served as the middle man- the link between non-Mizo speaker and Mizoram racketeers.
He takes his cut of 10% for any deal that was made.
They were about to make a deal at a tea stall in Demagiri market when they were apprehended, the BSF statement informed.
