Imphal, July 06 2014: The Potshangbam Sagei Apunba Lup has on Sunday felicitated the meritorious students of Potshangbam clan.

The function of felicitation was held at Ibudhou Chingjel Naral Thongnang Panganba Shanglen located at Kwakeithel Moirangpurel, Imphal.

The president of the Potshangbam Sagei Apunba Lup Dr Potshangbam Nishikanta, retired judge of the Gauhati High Court Ashok Potshangbam, the chairman of the Board of Secondary Education Manipur P Dhanakumar IPS and retired additional chief engineer P Jadumani Singh attended the function as presidium members.

Potshangbam Saroja of Tiny Tot's School who gets 85%, Melody Potshangbam of Nirmalabas High School who gets 81%, Potshangbam Kirankumar of Standard English School Khongjom who gets 80.4%, Garich Potshangbam of SD Gatewell Senior Secondary School who gets 85%, Chirangjit Potshangbam who gets 83.3%, Priyangka Potshangbam of RK Sanatombi Vidyalaya who gets 9.4 CGPA in CBSE conducted class XII exam and Kherdananda Potshangbam who sets 55th rank in the MPSC conducted Manipur Public Combined Civil Service examination 2013 were honoured with cash incentives, certificate of honour and shawl respectively.

During the function, Ashok Potshangbam told that it was a herculean task in his time of obtaining 60-70% marks under Gauhati University and further expressed that the students of the present generation are getting higher percentage of marks in the Board and University conducted examinations.

He added that the trend in mark pattern is good.

However, he cautioned the young students not to be satisfied with exam marks and incited them to tilt themselves to become qualified personalities in the society.

Opining on the trend of getting higher mark, Dhanakumar stated that there is no difference in terms of quality in getting low percentage and high percentage of the two generations and expressed his doubtfulness of decreasing quality of the present generation.

He further said that students should try, in this era of global competition, to accumulate knowledge as maximum as possible in order to compete with the rest of the world.
