3 killed, 3 hurt

Imphal, April 30 2011:
At least three persons including two children have been killed while three others sustained injuries in two separate road related accidents that took place in different parts of the State today.
According to police report, a young boy and a girl were killed, while three other persons sustained injuries when the autorickshaw in which they were travelling was hit by a mini Van (Tata Magic) at Meitei Lamkhai area of Singjamei police station along Imphal-Moreh Road at around noon today.
The autorickshaw was coming towards Imphal from Lilong when the mini Van bearing registration no.MN-04A/4522 rammed into it.
In the incident, Makakmayum Suneiya (9) d/o Azad Khan of Lilong Haoreibi and Dua Khan (8) s/o Abdul Gaffar of Lilong Athoukhong, who were travelling in the autorickshaw lost their lives.
Suneiya passed away at RIMS Hospital and Dua Khan at JNIMS, where they were admitted for treatment.
The bodies have deposited at the mortuary of RIMS for post-mortem.
A case has also been registered by the police and the involved Tata Magic seized.
The three other passengers who sustained injuries in the incident and have been subsequently admitted to RIMS for treatment have been identified as Nazima (30), mother of late Suneiya; Muktarjan (28), aunty of Suneiya, and Nawaz Khan (21) s/o Haji Majid Ali, who is a personnel in 5 IRB and belongs to the same locality as Suneiya.
Before this incident, a young man was killed after being knocked known by a water tanker truck (MN-03/0338) in front of General Head Post Office, Imphal at around 10.30 am today.
The identity of the victim has not yet been established.
He was walking down the road when the mishap occurred.
Police picked up his body and kept at the mortuary of RIMS for post-mortem and identification.
The deceased man was found clad in Jean pants and blue colour shirt with long hair, said police.
