Skill development programme held at Kangpokpi

Kangpokpi, February 29 2020:
To encourage unemployed youth especially women to take up industry-relevant skill training to secure a better livelihood, a skill development programme under National Skill Development Cooperation (NSDC) was inaugurated today at Kangpokpi DHQs.
The skill development programme was undertaken as part of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), which is a flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
It (the skill development programme) under PMKVY was organised by the 38 Assam Rifles under Senapati Brigade in collaboration with the training partner KB Philanthropy 5.The Jwalamukhi Battalion of the Assam Rifles in collaboration with KB Philanthropy 5 kicked off the three-month training programme for 120 unemployed women of Kangpokpi district at the Vocational Training Centre located near the Assam Rifles post at Kangpokpi.
The inaugural function was attended by leaders of Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi District, KSO Sadar Hills, KWU Sadar Hills including the local bodies such as KTC, KWWO and KYU apart from the Assam Rifles officials and the trainee.
The 38 Assam Rifles along with the CSOs coordinated and provided the infrastructure requirements as per the NSDC guidelines for smooth conduct of the training program.
The training support including the instructors and sewing machines for conducting the training is being facilitated by the training partner.
KB Philanthropy 5 provides training support including instructors and sewing machines for conducting the training.
Individuals with prior learning experience or skills will also be assessed and certified under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) .
A total of four batches will be conducted with thirty candidates each with two batches being conducted for three months.
Candidates undergoing the training were provided with a welcome kit during the inaugural function.
Payment, as well as conveyance support, will also be provided to the candidates after the validation of their training.
