Gaikhangam inaugurates hostels, auditorium

MLA of 58-Nungba AC, Gaikhangam has today inaugurated scheduled tribe girl's and boy's hostels and an auditorium constructed at Longmai Village near Tengkonjang Higher Secondary School & Jadonang Memorial College, Longmai, Noney district.
The projects which cost Rs 8.21 crore and implemented by Adai Phaomei, Special Contractor & PRO to Gaikhangam was funded by the North Eastern Council (HRD).
Both the hostel buildings can accommodate 150 students each and have more than 30 rooms, attached toilet, bathroom and a dining hall in each block.
The hostel buildings & auditorium hall was inaugurated with the dedication prayer pronounced by Pastors of Longmai Part-1 to 4 & TBC.
Zino Kamei, Member ADC TML gave the welcome address, followed by a short speech from guests of honour S Pamei, Vice Chairman ADC Tamenglong and Alar Thoitak, Member ADC Tamenglong.
Speaking at the event, Gaikhangam said that the mega projects which are taken up during Congress regime will be a big asset to the newly created Longmai (Noney) district.
This will benefit the poor tribal students and after few years Noney will become an advanced district, he said and sought cooperation from CSOs and the general public of the locality.
The programme was also participated by Village leaders, elders, women, youths, students, Churches leaders and Principals & staff of Tengkonjang Hr Sec School and Jadonang Memorial College.
