NPF gears up for ADC poll in Ukhrul

The NPF (Naga People's Front) is a platform for Nagas to work towards achieving "our political aspiration and self determination", stated its working president of Manipur State unit, Paul Muinao as the party gears up for the upcoming Autonomous District Council (ADC) elections 2020.Speaking at the inaugural function of the party's, Ukhrul unit office at Tangrei, Ukhrul today, Paul Muinao said the Naga People's Front has been persistently pressuring the Government of India for early solution to the "Indo-Naga" political issue.
Appealing people for their support in fulfilling the common vision of the Nagas, he advised that the party workers should work hard to bring about equal benefits to the whole tribal communities of State.
On the upcoming ADC elections, he mentioned that amongst the three Assembly Constituencies of Ukhrul district, 44-Ukhrul AC is a strategically important constituency for the NPF to strengthen its presence in the district.
Executive Member of Ukhrul ADC, Edmund Chiphang who hoisted the party flag and inaugurated the 44-AC NPF unit office, expressed that the NPF functionaries should build cordial relationship with people of every community.
To strengthen the NPF before the elections, he said the party workers should spread awareness on its principles and message of love and peace for people to embrace and understand the party's political objectives.
President of NPF Ukhrul Division, Wungnaoshang Shimray, who was also present on the occasion, stressed on the need for streamlining the policies and approaches of the party in order to strengthen relationship between its functionaries and the elected representatives.
This will gradually pave way forward for the party to bridge relationship with the public, Shimray said urging the party workers to show more allegiance and abide by the party principles in order to transform the party's vision into reality.
President of NPF 44-AC, Ukhrul VS Ringlem introduced the newly elected and inducted NPF leaders of Ukhrul Assembly Constituency before the gathering.
The programme was also attended by Ukhrul ADC Members Ngamsung, Thanmi, Thotngahan, HA Vareishang, Khayinghor, women wing representatives and other party leaders.
