Tourists reach Shirui village

Imphal, November 29 2011:
As a part of Sangai Festival 2011 around 30 tourists from different parts of India visited the famed Khangkhui Cave (locally known as Mongsor) and Shirui Peak in Ukhrul district on Nov 25 and 26 under the aegis of MMTA and Hills Eco-Adventure & Tourism Society (HEATS) .
The tourists were mesmerised by the beauty of the mountainous landscape of the district and they expressed that Ukhrul can become a major tourist spot, conveyed a release issued by the secretary of HEATS As Ngamthing.
The visitors also felt that adequate tourist infrastructures should be provided by the authority concerned to attract more tourists from different parts of the world, it said.
