Assam Rifles seizes smuggled medicines near Indo-Myanmar Border

Moreh, September 11 2020:
Assam Rifles troops under command of the HQ IGAR(S) are maintaining a strict vigil along the Indo-Myanmar Border over the last six months to prevent influx of narcotics and contraband smuggling from across.
On 10 September at around 03:00 AM in the vicinity of Haolenphai village near Moreh, a column of troops of Moreh Battalion detected some suspicious movement along the border.

On being challenged, the unknown miscreants fled toward Myanmar.
On thorough checking of three area, a stockpile of smuggled medicines worth approximately Rs 2.80 lakh.
The items were seized and handed over to Customs Office, Moreh for further legal action.
Assam Rifles will continue its effective border guarding operations to prevent cross border smuggling.
