COVID-19: Senapati fetes dutiful citizens

Senapati, September 11 2020:
In an attempt to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the district, the district administration and the Senapati District Students' Association have taken the initiative of rewarding shops in Senapati bazar that best comply with the SOP with a cash award of Rs 1000 .
The reward will be handed out weekly.
In addition to this, reporters have also been encouraged to report on any stores not complying with the SOP.
A cash reward is also reserved for them.
SOP spells out the need for all shopkeepers to wear masks, to ensure that customers are equipped with their own mask before entering the store, providing customers with hand sanitizers and making sure social distancing is maintained.
If these guidelines are violated, the store in question could be closed down for 5 working days.
The first award was presented to Oriflame, Service point, Bountifully store owned and run by Kaini Gloria and best reporter was awarded to Leshio Shedoumai.
Adahrii Maheo, ADM, stated that the step was taken to promote hygienic measures amongst the public in order to combat the virus.
M Pradip Singh, IPS, SP, Senapati asserted that it is the responsibility of everyone to curb the spread of the virus.
He further emphasized on the needed effort of the district administration in the fight against the pandemic.
