CM presides review meeting of Tamenglong, Noney

To monitor various developmental projects and inadequacies of different Government departments of Tamenglong and Noney district, a review meeting cum discussion was held today at the CM Secretariat with administrative Secretaries, district administrators, Heads of Departments and district level officers of Tamenglong and Noney District.
The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister N Biren and was attended by Cabinet Ministers and the two MLAs of Tamenglong district.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh stated that the special meeting was convened to keep an eye on the functioning of Government machinery in the hill districts.
The Chief Minister said, "Such meeting would be held district-wise and we are starting with Tamenglong district as it is the most backward district in the State" .
The primary objective of the discussion was to bring visible changes in the hill districts in terms of development which have been neglected by the previous Governments for many decades, he added.
The Chief Minister further stated that such kind of meeting would be able to examine the problems and grievances of Government officials posted in the hill districts and review development projects so as to have inclusive development in the State.
During the review meeting, Deputy Commissioners of Tamenglong and Noney districts made a detailed power point presentation highlighting the major problems in the districts.
Deputy Commissioner, Tamenglong, L Kiran Kumar said that Tamenglong district is the most backward district of the State as per the Backwardness Index.
He pointed out many major problem areas and existing facilities of the district administration in terms of infrastructure, power supply, health, education, banking sector etc.
Taking serious note on the dilapidated conditions of the district mini-Secretariat, the Chief Minister directed the Works Commissioner to send Joint Secretary (Works) for inspecting the said building and submit a concrete report with photos within ten days.
Though the mini-Secretariat was inaugurated in 2011, it has not been utilized yet.
The Chief Minister also instructed the Commissioner, Health and Family Welfare, PK Singh to inspect the condition of the 50-bedded district hospital which has been upgraded to a 100-bedded hospital.
The Chief Minister then appealed the DLOs and officials concerned of different departments posted in hill districts to be stationed at their respective districts.
He further said that the administrative Secretaries should instruct the Heads of Departments concerned to jssue a notification tQ ensure regular attendance and take their job seriously.
The Chief Minister also advised introduction of bio-metric system of registering attendance in the hill district headquarters.
N Biren further instructed the DLOs and HoDs to table .

Such special meeting would be held once a month or every , two months to assess the progress of developmental works for other districts as well, he added. He appealed to the people of the State to co-operate with Government officials for smooth functioning of Government; departments.
