Joint committee urges against entertainment activities during exam period

Appealing all those concerned to refrain from organising lottery/housie and Thabal Chongba events before Yaoshang/Holi festival taking advantage of sports and other event, even though Class X and XII examinations are in full swing, the Joint Committee on Restriction of Entertainment Programmes has cautioned that if any musician is found taking part in such events, then they will have to bear the responsibility for any untoward incidents which might occur.
Speaking to media persons at AMMIK office at Yaiskul Janmasthan Moirangkhom today, the convenor of the committee (which is formed by AMSGO, AMMIK, FFM, MSSLC, AMSSA, AMSU, MSF, DESAM, KSA, SUK, AIMS, SSUM and RSF), Sumati Sougrakpam reminded that the committee has publicly appealed to all to stop any forms of entertainment activities in the State from January 31 to March 18 looking after the Class X and XII examinations conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur and the Council Of Higher Secondary Education Manipur respectively.
She then appealed to one and all to stop organising housie and Thabal events before Yaoshang festival, and urged the people to enjoy only during the festival period and on Cheiraoba.
She further urged the people against extending the enjoyment period like Thabal and other entertainment events after April 14 .
The convenor also appealed for the concerned organisers to organise their Thabals early and to wrap up the event by 11 pm.
She then appealed to all to extend cooperation to the initiative taken up by the committee for the collective welfare of the student community.
