TKS intensifies stir, shuts Govt schools of Kamjong & Ukhrul

Ukhrul, February 22 2019:
Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS), a Tangkhul student body has shut all Government schools in Ukhrul and Kamjong districts, exempting only the HSLC & HSSLC examination centres.
Talking to our correspondent, TKS Education Secretary Joyson Keishing stated that the volunteers of TKS has indefinitely shut all Government schools to express strong opposition towards the Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam for failing to meet the demand for reversion of all utilized RMSA/SSA teachers in their respective schools of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts.
He said, the Minister had turn a deaf ear and has done nothing for the welfare of the students.
Joyson further mentioned that without teachers, the students attending for school has no meaning and will bear no result.
TKS will further resort to all forms of democratic agitation, so as to divulge and expose that RMSA/SSA is a failure in hill districts particularly in Kamjong and Ukhrul districts, which is allegedly a negligence on the part of the Education Minister.
TKS asserted that the minister should tender unconditional apology for his betrayal to the students community.
Maintaining that TKS backs the demand of RMSA/SSA to release their pending salaries, it.
urged the State Government to look into the grievances of the agitating teachers.
It may be mentioned that the agitating RMSA/SSA teachers had locked Ukhrul ZEO office since February 4 which has paralysed the whole District Education office for more than three weeks while all office procedures or files movement of ZEO office has also been halted.
