ZHRF urges CCpur MLAs to provide Oxygen Concentrators

The Zomi Human Rights Foundation (ZHRF) appealed to the five MLAs currently representing Churachandpur and Pherzawl to donate 10 Oxygen Concentrators each for emergency use in the District Hospital and Covid Care Centres.
In a letter addressed to the MLAs, the rights body stated that the second wave of Covid-19 has left the healthcare system of the State unable to respond to the growing numbers of Covid patients and the absence or insufficient life saving drugs has worsened the situation even more.
'We are facing an unprecedented situation which calls for unprecedented response from each one of us', it said.
'To begin with, we request you as one of the representatives of the District to kindly donate 10 oxygen concentrators each for emergency use in District Hospital and Covid Care Centres.
We appreciate the steps taken up by the State Government in this regard, yet in view of the urgency and seriousness of the case, we request each one of you to kindly act at your personal level without further delays,' according to the letter.
It may be mentioned that Churachandpur and Pherzawl currently have 5 MLAs after Henglep MLA, TT Haokip relinquished his seat in 2019.ZHRF submitted the letter to the District in-charge Minister, Vungzagin Valte; former Minister and CCpur MLA, V Hangkhanlian; former Speaker and Saikot MLA, TN Haokip; Singngat MLA, Ginsuanhau; former Minister and Tipaimukh MLA, Dr Chaltonlien Amo.
ZHRF further appealed to the MLAs to show their love and care for the people regardless of Party affiliations and lead the people in the fight against the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic.
