Imphal, September 08 2018:
Based on an investigation carried out by one of their teams, the Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has alleged that governing body officials of aided colleges are resorting to appointment various teachers and staff through unethical means such as manipulation of dates on which necessary orders/notifications were issued.
A press release issued by the secretary, education and academic affairs of DESAM today alleged that it was also found that Directorate of Education Joint Director L Iboyaima is also one of the people involved in the case as his son has also been given preferential treatment.
Demanding the State Government to take up necessary actions against the teaching and non-teaching staff who were appointed through unethical means within the month of September, DESAM urged the concerned authority to take befitting action against the particular Joint Director and send him to his parent college.
The association further mentioned that three teaching and non-teaching staff were appointed through unethical means at Mayai Lambi College (Yumnam Huidrom), 10 teaching and non teaching staff for Standard College (Kongba), 8 for Biramangol College (Sawombung) and 5 for Kakching Khunou College (Kakching Khunou).
DESAM further warned that if the Government fails to take up necessary steps, the association along with the student community and the people will launch intense agitation from October 1 .
