Anti-leprosy fortnight

The Anti-Leprosy fortnight observance was launched today at various places of the State to mark the martyrdom of Mahatma Gandhi, with the theme 'Let us Fight Stigma and discrimination against leprosy' .
The fortnight observance was launched in Imphal West at the State Leprosy office, (SLO) NLEP, RD Wing, Lamphelpat today.
The SLO led the gatherings in paying floral tribute to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi to commemorate his torch bearing endeavour against leprosy and the stigma, discrimination attached to it.
In Imphal East, the CMO of Imphal East led the gathering in paying tribute to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi at the office of CMO, Imphal East.
With the same theme, the fortnight observance was also launched at the Conference Hall of NRHM, Old District Hospital Complex, Thoubal Thongkhong under the aegis of DLS, Thoubal.
The solemn function was graced by CMO of Thoubal, Dr Kh Radheshyam Singh; MS of Thoubal Dr S Mema Devi and persons affected with leprosy (PAL) I Tomba and E Ruhini as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
