A minor girl of Kakching was allegedly seduced, kidnapped and raped in Thoubal district on January 25 .
North East Support Centre and Helpline has quoted a report as saying that a 17-year old girl, Geeta (name changed) from Kakching was kidnapped by four men coming in a red colour Maruti Van on January 25 .
While the girl was returning from market with her brother the men pushed her inside their vehicle and closed her mouth using some suspected substance.
As a result, she lost consciousness and became senseless.
When the girl regained consciousness, she found herself with a person named Prameshwor Singh (19) alone inside the vehicle, parked in an isolated place.
Not long after she found her private part bleeding, the victim also realised that she had been raped by the man.
The girl was taken to a house where the family members persuaded her to accept that she had eloped with the man with her consent.
On being taken to the parental home the next day, the girl narrated the incident to her parents.
On receiving a complaint, a fact finding team led by Madhu Chandra, Spokesperson of NESCH and Rev N Debendra, member of Manipur Station Minorities Commission rushed to the victim's place.
The fact finding team went to Kakching PS and registered an FIR on charges of kidnapping, seducing and raping a minor girl.
Pointing out that the victim is a member of SC community of Kakching, the NESCH demanded that the accused along with his accomplices be booked under SC/ST Prevention of Atrocity Act, 1989 apart from other suitable sections of IPC.
The NESCH also demanded payment of compensation to the victim according to scheme set up by the Supreme Court of India.
