Imphal, December 27 2014 :
As part of Christmas celebration, United Committee Manipur distributed blankets at Khongnangpokpi and Lisam Lok, Senapati district today.
Khongnangpokpi village chief Goilen Kom said that the village has been deprived of proper road connectivity and there is perpetual lack of proper electricity and water supply.
He urged the UCM to extend assistance in constructing a hand pump outside the Church.
UCM general secretary Jaychandra Konthoujam while interacting with the villagers emphasised on the need to promote one's culture.
He further stressed the need to establish Manipur Legislative Council (MLC) in order to allow the smaller communities participate in the decision making in various developemental processes concerning their villages.
Jaychandra added that peace would prevail in the society when there is mutual respect among the communities irrespective of all the differences.
To solve the water scarcity problem, UCM will construct a hand pump in the Church premises, he assured.
