Bomb found under garbage truck detonated safely

A remote control IED fitted mortar shell was reportedly found planted under a stationary dumper truck owned by Workers and Traders Association Moreh.
The garbage dumper truck was reportedly parked over a bridge near Moreh town parking area along Imphal-Moreh road (NH-102) .
Upon receiving the information, Additional SP K Robunsun Moreh police along with SDPO, DSP of CDO and team of police personnel led by OC rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area.
A team of 11 AR Moreh also joined the Moreh police to block off the area for the safety of the public.
Later, a team of bomb expert demounted the bomb from under the vehicle at around 1.30 pm and took it to a nearby forest at Haolenphai village and detonated the bomb safely.
Meawhile, Nupi Khunai Chaokhat Lamjing Lup in association with Kha Nongpok Apunba Nupi Lup and Workers and Traders Assciation Moreh staged a sit-in-protest at Ema market, Moreh Bazar and condemned the dartardly act of planting a bomb under the garbage truck of Workers and Traders Association Moreh.
On the other hand, leaders of various organization based in Moreh strongly condemned the dastardly act of planting a bomb by unknown miscreants at the bridge of Moreh bazar along NH-102 at the midnight of October 21, said a statement jointly released by Hill Tribal Council Moreh, Gorkha Samaj Moreh, Meetei Council Moreh, Tamil Sangam Moreh among others.
No right thinking person will ever do such act, it added and said that if it was not detected earlier then many people might have been killed as the location was a crowded area.
Moreover, the explosion might have damaged the brigde which may give a lot of troubles and inconveniences to the public, added the statement and appealed the perpetrators not to repeat such acts in future.
