Senapati Police observes Police Commemoration Day

Senapati, October 22 2018:
Senapati District Police observed Police Commemoration Day at Police Reserve Line, District Headquarters, Senapati.
The programme started with forming of Shock Parade contingent.
M Pradeep Singh, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Senapati in his speech mentioned the day is observed to commemorate death 10 security personnel who were killed on duty in Ladakh in 1959.The day is observed every year to pay homage to the Police martyrs at national, state and district level, he added.
Sub-Inspector Krili James, Asst Reader to SP-Senapati, read out the names of Police personnel killed on duty during the period from September 1, 2017 to August 31, 2018.414 Police personnel and 3 from Manipur of all ranks and files were reportedly killed on duty during the period.
Police officials led by the SP, Senapati and other Police personnel laid flower wreaths in respect of the personnel killed on duty.
Shock Parade was also given to the martyrs by the District Police, Senapati.
Later, M Pradeep Singh distributed the Prizes to the winners of essay writing competition.
