Three robbers arrested, looted money recovered

The Churachandpur Police today paraded three people before the media who were arrested in connection with a loot committed in Saturday evening from a 'Electro System' shop owned by a couple while the police recovered about Rs 67,000 which the robbers have forcibly looted from the couple.
The incident happened when the owner of shop, located along the Tedim Road, along with his wife were about to shut their shop when three men accosted them, shoved the couple inside and looted them of their cash by threatening the man with a pistol and his wife with a horse blade.
As the three men left the shop, the couple screamed for help following which one of the robbers was captured by passers-by.
The robber identified as Chinlianthwng (19) s/o Khamsuanmang of Hqtrs Veng was later handed over to the police along with Rs 14,000 recovered from his possession.
The police immediately acted on the case and recovered a Honda Activa used by the robbers near SBI Churachandpur branch.
The police again conducted raids to apprehend the missing duo at around 11pm and arrested Mangliankhup (18) s/o (L) Ginsuankap of Tangpizol, Singngat sub division and Siantungthang (21) s/o Kaichinkhup of Tangpizol and recovered Rs 40,000 in cash from their possession.
Parading the three men today, the police said they have also recovered a toy pistol and the blade used for committing the crime.
