All Manipur 3rd May Victim Campers' Association submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister demanding to instruct the State Government to grant proper compensation/assistance for the left out victim families of the ethnic riots of May 1993 .
The memorandum said that out of total 194 riot affected families, 17 families have been given assistance under Income Generation Scheme and Housing Scheme.
It further said that another 169 families were benefited with Housing Scheme only, while the remaining eight families have not got any assistance from the Government.
According to the association, 169 families are to be provided assistance under Income Generation Scheme and another eight families to be benefitted with both the schemes.
Manipur Human Rights Commission issued repeated notices to the concerned authorities in this regard, but the State Government has failed to give any responsible response so far, the memorandum said.
It further said that the Chief Minister on the otherhand has recently given all types of remaining compensation for the left out victims of
Naga-Kuki riots if 1991.
