Imphal, December 27 2020:
Patient party of one Pukhrambam Lukhoiba Singh (55) of Pukhrambam Mamang Leikai have lamented the mismatched COVID-19 test report between hospitals today at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club.
Speaking to the media, Pukhrambam Mala, cousin of the patient said that Pukhrambam Lukhoiba was receiving medical treatment following an injury to the eye for the last 5 months.
She added that the required surgery for the patient was rescheduled frequently in the past and when they were told to do the COVID-19 test on December 24 for a scheduled surgery on December 26, they took the COVID-19 test.
The result of the test was not communicated to the patient party till the last minute when the patient had already completed all the pre-surgery checks, alleged the patient party.
After they were handed over the test result which said the patient was COVID-19 positive and were asked to take the patient for home isolation, the patient party felt discontented and went to another hospital and took the COVID-19 test again, which came out negative.
Pukhrambam Mala alleged that if they had just communicated that they wouldn't be able to perform the surgery instead of giving a false test report, the matter would have been settled.
She added that the patient had previously undergone the test two times and both came out negative.
