Mortal remains of LS John laid to rest

The mortal remains of LS John, ex-minister who passed away on Nov 15 were laid to rest on Nov 16 with PA Thekho as moderator and Rev MK Lei Pou, Pastor of Tungjoy Baptist Church as administrator.
In a solemn ceremony attended by many dignitaries from the State and Senapati district, a short prayer was offered by Rev Graceson, Pastor, Poumai Baptist Church, Senapati and the pallbearers from Mahika Tungjoy Village Authority Council members and the Mahika Tungjoy Baptist Church Deacon Board members carried the coffin to the elevation being arranged for the final consecration service, said a press statement issued by PA Thekho.
After a funeral hymnal, Tennyson, Pastor, M Tungjoy BC said the invocation prayer followed by laying of wreaths and cards.
Chief of Rikhumai T Tungjoy, Pastor of M Tungjoy BC, ex-minister RK Thekho, Minister Francis Ngajokpa, ex-MLA BD Behring, convenor of Naga Parliamentarians Forum PS Henry Paotei, NPF functionary RV Shirang delivered their speeches.
Rev MK Lei Pou performed the final Committal Service and with prayer from Pastor Salouni, the mortal remains of LS John were laid to rest, it said.
Meanwhile, the Naga Parliamentarians Forum, Manipur (NPFM), Chairman of Senapati ADC, RS Henry Hiilii and ADC members of Senapati have condoled the demise of LS John.
A condolence message of NPFM remembered the departed leader as a man of exceptional quality and calibre.
"During his tenure as a people's representative and as a Minister, he had done many commendable works for the people of the State.
He was a man of courage and he always stood up for the welfare and rights of the downtrodden people of the State," the NPFM said.
Paying heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family especially to his wife and children, the NPFM prayed that God provides comfort to the family with the courage to cope up in this sorrowful situation.
Members of Senapati ADC observed two-minute silence as a mark of mourning the demise of LS John, ex-Minister.
In his condolence message, the ADC Chairman, RS Henry Hiilii remembered the departed leader as a dynamic and committed person in bringing the unity and brotherhood among the various communities of the State.
The members also shared the grief of the bereaved family.
