Chandel students protest assault on NSUC leader

Thousands of school going students came out of their class rooms today to register protest against the alleged brutal assault of NSUC president and an alleged rape attempt on a class XII student girl that reportedly took place on November 14 at Panchai in Chandel.
The students staged a sit in protest at super market complex, Japhou Bazar.
Students of various schools located at the district headquarters along with student leaders from the seven Naga tribes, Naga People's Front, Chandel division and CNPO executives took part in the protest organized under the aegis of the Naga Students' Union, Chandel to protest and denounce the physical assault of NSUC president Sr Joningam Anal and the attempt to rape a class XII student of Maha Union Govt Higher Secondary School, Japhou by two youths identified as St Chingringam Anal and BD Aaron on November 14 at about 8 pm.

Executive member of the Naga People's Movement for Human Rights Dr Gina Shangkham addressed the protesters.
Meanwhile, The Anal Lenruwl Tangpi in a statement expressed shock over the unfortunate incident wherein the two youth made an attempt to compromise the dignity of a class XII student on November 14 .
It stated that assaulting president of a student body is a serious threat to the social environment and society.
The ALT, anguished by the repeated criminal acts perpetrated by the culprits, and in its move to fight against such crimes called upon every sensible public to initiate stringent punishment against the culprits.
