PIL filed to formulate and implement State Drug Policy

Imphal, August 19 2020:
A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed to the Manipur High Court praying for issuing of order to formulate and implement a comprehensive State Drug Policy on Tuesday.
"In the premises aforesaid it is respectfully prayed that Your lordship would be graciously pleased to admit this petition and issue Rule calling upon the respondents to show cause as to why a writ in the nature of mandamus and or other appropriate writ order or direction/orders shall not be issued to formulate and implement a comprehensive State drug policy, through wide consultation, to curve the menace of drug in the State, with a strong emphasis on curbing drug supply, to entrust a central independent agency, like CBI or NIA to investigate into all cases involving the haul of drugs worth more than ten crores and further be pleased to monitor all trials under the ND&PS Act by the Hon'ble High Court and to entrust a central independent agency, like CBI or NIA to investigate into the loss of remnants; attempt to forcefully remove charge sheet from the Court of ND&PS, Manipur; '�bduction' of the accused from Imphal by armed militants from to Myanmar and subsequent 'surrender' in the Court in special case S T No 100 of 2018 in FIR No 43(6) 2018 NAB P S IV .
And on cause or causes being shown and after hearing the parties be pleased to make the Rule absolute and be pleased to pass any other order/or orders or direction/or directions for the ends of justice.:" , the petitioners prayed.
