Dispelling fear from the minds of the farmers, State Agriculture Department has stated that there is no cause for worry among the farmers as to shortage of fertilizer in the State.
There are adequate fertilizers in stock in all the district offices of the department and moreover about 90 trucks fully loaded with fertilizers are stranded due to landslide.
As soon as the road is cleared, the trucks would be brought to Imphal, District Training Officer of Agriculture Department Y Shyamkishore Singh said in a release.
Meanwhile, alleging that some fertilizer and pesticide stockists have hike prices of agricultural essentials taking undue advantage of fluid law and order situation and landslides along the National Highway 39, Loumee Shinmee Apun-Lup, Manipur appeals to State authorities to control prices and punish those stockists found hiking prices of goods.
The fanners' body also decried killing of Saichang village pastor Jamkholet Khongsai and custodial death of Th Manorama and iterated the Lup's unstinted support to related agitation.
