Continuing with its demand to lift AFSPA from the State, protestors today consigned to flames the flags of the constituent partners of the SPF Government, Congress (I), CPI and MSCP.
Effigies of the Chief Minister and his Council of Ministers were also burnt.
The incident took place after a sit-in-protest at Khongman Mangjil.
The protestors also raised slogans demanding the revocation of the AFSPA, punishment of the personnel involved in the elimination of Th Manorama and also demanded the resignation of the SPF Government.
The Oriental Club, which organized the protest, reiterated that they will extend all its co-operation to the movement launched by the 32 organizations, spearheading the current agitation.
On the other hand, in a novel protest, former president of AMSU, Samuphaba chained himself and staged a dharna in front of the Nupi Lan memorial complex.
