On the third day of the agitation today, 160 persons took part in the relay hunger strike being launched at Langmeidong bazar.
The agitation is being organized under the leadership of Laimanai Apunba Meira paibi Lup to put pressure on the Government for removing AFSPA from Manipur.
Members of Morning Star Club, Laimanai also took part in the relay hunger strike.
On the other hand, three hunger strikers have been admitted at JN Hospital, Porompat today as their condition deteriorated.
All three of them are participants of second batch of the relay hunger strike being carried out at by members of the UCM, Awang Lam Chingtam Unit, at Keibi Awang Leikai bus parking since July 21.They are identified as L Sanathoi (25), Th Nando (23) and Th Rajen Singh (23), all residents of Keibi Awang Leikai.
The second batch of the stir commenced from July 23 with six persons volunteering to take part in the relay hunger strike.
The remaining three hunger strikers are still carrying on with their stir.
The secretary of the Unit informed the press that they will boycott the local MLA, L Lala and added that intensive agitation will be launched soon.
Sit-in-protest demonstration also continued to be held at different parts of the State demanding action against killing of Th Manorama in the custody of 17 Assam Rifles and demanding scraping of AFSPA.
Around 200 womenfolk staged a protest demonstration at Wangoi Thongkgong Laxmi Bazar from 9 am to 4 pm today.
The protestors also shouted slogans denouncing the excesses committed by security personnel in the name of counter insurgency operation.
In front of Moidangpok Korouhanba Nisha Band office, around 50 maidens staged a sit-in-protest demonstration from 11 am to 5 pm demanding punishment of guilty AR personnel involved in extra-judicial killing of Manorama.
Similar demonstration was also staged in front of Yairipok Kekru Lai Lampak by 500 womenfolk from 10 am to 4 pm today.
The demonstration was organized by Yairipok Kekru Apunba Meira Paibi Lup.
Meanwhile, the attempt of some rickshaw drivers to burn the effigy of Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh at Checkon was today foiled by the police.
