Manipur State Kala Akademi (MSKA), Imphal, Progressive Writers' Association (PWA), Manipur, Manipuri Literary Society (MLS) and The Cultural Forum Manipur have condoled the sudden demise of noted writer Laishram Samarendra Singh, who passed away on June 2 at his residence located at Yaiskul Hiruhanba Leikai.
A condolence meeting was organised by the employees of MSKA at its office today which was presided by its secretary.
A two-minute silence was observed as a mark of respect and prayed for a peaceful sojourn of the departed soul.
The members also shared the grief and sorrow of the bereaved family and stated that his death leaves a void, which will be hard to fill.
A condolence meeting was also organised by members of PWA today at 2 pm to condole the sudden demise of noted writer Laishram Samarendra Singh, who passed away on June 2 at his residence.

Members of Manipuri Literary Society (MLS), Imphal held a similar condolence meeting yesterday at 5.30 pm, which was presided by its president Dr Athokpam Kholchandra.
The gathering observed two minutes' silence in honour of the departed soul and also shared grief and sorrow of the bereaved family.
The Cultural Forum Manipur also held a condolence meeting at its office yesterday with its president Dr Naorem Khagendra in the chair.
Late Laishram Samarendra Singh was a former president of the Forum from 1987 to 1989.The members also observed a two-minute silence on the death of the noted writer and shared the grief and sorrow of the bereaved family.
