Imphal, June 04 2016 :
People staged sit-in-protests at different localities demanding immediate release of the five arrested KSA executives today.
Nongmeibung Women's Development Meira Paibi Association staged the protest at Nongmeibung bazar, New Checkon Women's Development Committee at New Checkon and women vendors at Pureiromba Keithel.
Pureiromba Keithel secretary Ngangbam Bibi said that it is highly condemnable to detain KSA volunteers instead of taking action against the non-local people found adulterating common salt.
They are ready to stage different modes of agitation until the five arrested students are freed.
Nongmeibung Women's Development Meira Paibi Association secretary Nong-maithem Sobita said that KSA's campaign to check food adulteration is not a personal matter but a State issue.
Food adulteration is a serious issue and it can annihilate the people of the State, she said and added that had the Government taken up necessary steps on time, such unwanted incidents could have been avoided.
She said that they would extend support to all the movements initiated by KSA regarding the matter.
New Checkon Women's Development Committee secretary Shanti said that they would join all forms of agitation launched by KSA on the issue if the arrested students are not released by June 9 .
