All party delegation awaits appointment with PM, HM

The all party delegation which left Imphal for New Delhi yesterday to seek the President's assent to the three Bills passed by the Manipur Legislative Assembly on August 31 last year is camping at the national capital awaiting appointments with leaders of the Government of India.
Although other members of the delegation which left Imphal yesterday have reach-ed Delhi, Chief Minister O Ibobi who is leading the delegation stopped at Kolkata and he is currently there.
He would leave Kolkata for Delhi tomorrow morning.
Meanwhile, BJP Manipur Pradesh president Ksh Bha-bananda, former president Sh Shantikumar and MLA Th Bishwajit left Imphal for Delhi today.
Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Gaikhangam would leave Imphal for Delhi tomorrow.

The three Bills passed unanimously by the State Assembly last year for protection of all the indigenous peoples of Manipur were sent to the Governor for his approval but the Governor refer- red the three Bills to the President of India.
Since then, the Bills have been pending.
While Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on foreign tour, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is away at Mathura, Uttar Pra-desh where large scale violence erupted in the course of an eviction drive.
As such, the all party delegation is awaiting return of the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister.
It is reported that the Prime Minister may return to Delhi on June 10.According to information received from Delhi, the all party delegation would discuss tomorrow soon after Chief Minister O Ibobi and Deputy Chief Minister Gai-khangam join them about their meeting with the Union Home Minister and other Central leaders whom they should meet in order to obtain the President's assent to the three Bills.
It is reported that the all party delegation would explore all possible avenues to hold a meeting with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh tomorrow itself or by Monday at the latest.
Notably, apart from Chief Minister O Ibobi, the all party delegation which left Imphal for new Delhi yesterday included MPCC president TN Haokip, MPCC secretary K Ranjit, Congress MLA O Landhoni, LJP MLA K Shyam, MPP president N Sovakiran, BJP spokesman RK Shivchandra and BJP general secretary L Basanta.
