Continuing the demolition of structures located inside Kangla which are not related to the history of the land, the remaining quarters and barracks of the Assam Rifles as well as the barracks in the family line of the Ist IRB have been dismantled along with security personnel since early morning today.
The Kangla Fort Board had given 7 am today as the deadline for evacuation of the family members of the Ist IRB from the fami-ly line and JCB machine had been pressed into action for the demolition works.
The demolition work has been carried out as part of the efforts being made to develop Kangla into a historical monument site.
