NSS festival begins at Khuman Lampak

A seven days festival of the Seven Northeast National Service Scheme (NSS), Manipur organised by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports Government of Manipur under the supervision of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Government of India kick started today at the newly constructed auditorium in Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
The newly completed auditorium which will be the main venue for the festival was also inaugurated during the opening ceremony.
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh was expected to inaugurate the auditorium.
however, he could not turn up due to other tight official schedules.
I Hemochandra PHD Minister, Government of Manipur and Dr RK Nimai Singh, Commisioner (YAS, Art and Culture) were the chief guest and president of the opening ceremony respectively.

Addressing the gathering, I Hemochandra welcomed all the participants on behalf of the Chief Minister of Manipur and said that the camp will be benificial to the youths and can serve as a great opportunity for all the youths of the seven states in northeast region to learn each other's ways and culture.
He further mentioned that such camps will be able to build a bond of love among the Northeast people.
In his presidential speech, Dr RK Nimai said that the camp has given an opportunity to the people to befriend one another.
"Northeast India is a home to people of different communities.
Its a very fortunate event to have all the people from different communities under one roof" expressed Dr RK Nimai.
