'Priority to JNIMS assurance given on March 18'

After Trained Nurses' Association of JNIMS threatened to launch a stir from March 20, the Government today claimed that it had assured to consider extending 7th Pay Commission to JNIMS on priority basis on March 18 .
Chief Secretary, Dr Rajesh Kumar gave the assurance during a meeting with JNIMS authority on March 18, showed a record of the discussion issued by the Health Department.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, Health V Vumlunmang, JNIMS Director Dr Th Bhimo, Medical Superintendent Dr Kh Lokeshwar, a team of JNIMS Teachers' Association represented by president Dr Kulabidhu, general secretary Dr Bikramaditya and representatives of Trained Nurses' Association (TNA) JNIMS and Association of All Non Teaching Staff (AANTS).
The meeting discussed the demand for adoption of 7th Pay Commission for JNIMS and it was explained from the Government side that the Pay Commission was adopted for Government Departments only.
It has not been adopted for autonomous bodies, societies etc under the State Government.
However, after thorough discussion of all issues, including the financial implications, Chief Secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar assured that the Finance Department would favourably consider extending the 7th Pay Commission to JNIMS on priority, showed the meeting record.
Further informing that the revised "TSP" has been approved/finalised, the Chief Secretary also assured to consider the request of the TNA (Trained Nurses' Association) for adoption of MACP, it said.
