Imphal, March 20 2021:
The Irong Chasaba Job Card Holders Development Association in a statement urged the Panchayat authorities concerned to hand over the bank passbooks, debit cards and job cards to the respective job card holders and to release the pending wages at the earliest and to look into the matter where funds have been misappropriated without doing any work.
The association said that the job card holders of Irong Chasaba Gram Panchayat have been urging the Panchayat members and officials concerned to release the pending wages of 10 days work done in 2019-2020 under MGNREGS however their demands have not been fulfilled till date.
The association also alleged that ever since the beginning of the term of the current Panchayat, bank passbooks, debit cards and job cards of the job card holders are in the possession of the Panchayat members and the officials concerned have turned a blind eye on the matter.
Further the association enlisted some work/schemes where funds have been misappropriated without doing any work namely Community Hall near Moinam Kabarstan, Ward no 7, construction of toilet at Irong Chasaba Mayai Leikai, repairing of road at Irong Mayai Leikai, construction of MI Canal from Imphal River to Yendao Loukol, Ward no 1 and at Irong Maibam Palli SDC area among others.
Regarding the matter, the association complained to officials concerned and even submitted a written complaint to the Panchayat Minister but no action has been taken till now.
Therefore the association sought the intervention of the authorities concerned into the matter and warned that if their demands are not heeded, they will be compelled to take the matter legally and will also resort to other forms of agitation.
