NHPC organises Covid vaccination camp for Central Power Sector employees

Imphal, May 19 2021:
Following the call for large scale Covid vaccination by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and as per directions of RK Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) (Power and New & Renewable Energy) and Minister of State (Skill Development and Entrepreneurship), Government of India, NHPC Limited, a two day mass Covid vaccination camp was held at National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Badarpur from May 18
to May 19 .
The camp was organised in association with Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi for employees (including contract employees and security personnel) and family members (18 - 44 years) of Ministry of Power, Government of India, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India and various CPSUs/organizations under Ministry of Power and MNRE in Delhi / NCR region, said a statement of Manager (PR), NHPC, Loktak Power Station.
The first dose of the employees and family members between 45 to 60 years which were left out earlier was also given.
AK Singh, CMD, NHPC visited the vaccination venue on the first day and expressed his gratitude to the NHPC team involved in setting up the camp for their dedication during the pandemic.
He further thanked Apollo Hospitals and NPTI for providing the venue for the vaccination camp, it added.
NK Jain, Director (Personnel), NHPC and YK Chaubey, Director (Technical), NHPC also visited the camp and appreciated the arrangements made for smooth conduct of the vaccination camp.
The two day Covid vaccination camp witnessed the largest number of vaccinations by NHPC during a vaccination drive wherein 1270 persons from MOP, NHPC, NTPC, IREDA, NPTI, BHEL, REC, THDC, PTC, CVPPPL, BBMB and UPL received the first dose of Covishield vaccine, it added.
The vaccination camp was organised for the safety of power sector personnel so that uninterrupted power supply is ensured.
