Imphal, January 19:
A body christened examination monitoring cell has been constituted by the schools of Imphal which are affiliated to CBSE.
The basic purpose of the cell is to monitor class X and XII exams beginning from March 1 till April 10.The cell constituted by Manipur Public School, Maria Montessori School, North Point Higher Secondary School, DAV Public School, Hundred Flowers Senior Secondary School, RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya, Kanan Devi Memorial Senior Secondary School, BIM Higher Secondary School and Little Rose Higher Secondary School aims at ensuring proper and quality based CBSE exams.
Speaking to reporters, chairman of the monitoring cell and principal of Manipur Public School B Santokumar said that the JNVs, Kendra Vidyalayas, Sainik School and other schools under security forces are not related to the cell.
In line with the examination committee of Board of Secondary Education Manipur and Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur which monitor exams in private centres, the monitoring cell would look into CBSE exams at five centres of Imphal, said S Manaoton, convenor of the cell.
To oversee the exams, a flying squad has also been constituted, he informed.
The monitoring cell, flying squad and the authority of the examination centres would work together to ensure that the CBSE exams are conducted in a proper manner, Manaoton added.
The monitoring cell would also make arrangements and communicate with other outside observers so that no disturbance is caused to the students and teachers.
Moreover, an adhoc committee would look after orientation course for teachers, workshops, scholarships for students, admission, form fill-up etc.
Even as the CBSE guidelines recommend constitution of such committees, the CBSE affiliated schools were unable to constitute such joint bodies in the past, Manaoton mentioned.
