Imphal, December 12 2020:
Congress MLA Kh Joykisan has expressed keen desire for the Government to increase ICU beds for COVID patients and ensure emergency services in view of the ever rising cases of COVID-19 deaths and positive cases in the State.
Speaking at the inaugural function of a newly constructed community hall at Guigailong, Thangmeiband, Joykisan opined that there might be many cases of COVID-19 deaths due to unavailability of ICU beds.
Saying that there are many complaints of shortage of ICU beds in different hospitals, the Congress MLA asserted that raising the number of ICU beds is the need of the hour.
Noting that non-COVID patients are compelled to wait for COVID-19 test results which usually extends to three/four hours, Joykisan expressed keen desire for the authorities to make necessary arrangements so that emergency medical attention is given to such patients.
Saying that the community hall inaugurated today was the first of many development works to be taken up at Guigailong, the MLA said that he would fulfil the commitments he gave to the people of Guigailong.
He also decried the criticisms made by one elected Meitei MP against the Meitei community.
Joykisan expressed keen desire for the MP to rather focus his attention on fostering closer ties between hill people and plain people.
Expressing satisfaction over the several development works taken up at Guigailong village at the initiative of MLA Kh Joykisan, village chairman Gainingpou Rongmei assured that all the voters of the village would vote for the incumbent MLA in the next State Assembly election.
Incidentally, inauguration of the community hall coincided with the foundation day of the Thangmeiband Kendra Development Organisation.
