Two remanded to police custody

Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West on December 11 remanded self-styled finance secretary Longjam Arjun and self-styled Assistant Finance Secretary Naorem Dilip of KCP (MJC) and remanded them to 5 days police remand till December 15 in connection with a hand grenade explosion that occurred at the courtyard of one Akoijam Brojendro of Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai on December 9, 2016 .
Longjam Arjun alias Naobi alias Ingba Meitei (32) of Samurou Makha Leikai and Noarem Dilip alias Wangamba, (31) of Singjamei Makha Naorem Leikai were initially produced before the Court through video conference along with a prayer for judicial custody remand in connection with the hand grenade explosion that occurred at the south western drain of Lourembam Enterprise located at Heijingang Market, Canchipur owned by Lourembam Rame of Kiyamgei Mamang Leikai on June 14, 2016.The Court remanded them to judicial custody till December 22.However, Singjamei Police filed an application for making formal arrest of the accused persons in another case of a hand grenade blast that occurred at the courtyard of Akoijam Brojendro of Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai on December 9, 2016 .
The Court allowed formal arrest of the accused persons and remanded them to police custody for 5 days for further investigation of the case till December 15.It may be noted that Longjam Arjun and Naorem Dilip of KCP (MJC) were arrested by Bihar Police on November 29 and were brought by a team of Manipur Police on December 3 after taking a transit remand from a Bihar Court.
Sources said around 20 FIRs are registered against them in different police stations in Manipur in connection with extortion, bomb blast and other unlawful activities.
