Imphal, December 12 2020:
Apunba Imagi Machasing (AIMS), a student's body based in Manipur had submitted memorandum to the governor of Manipur Dr Najma Heptulla drawing her attention to the pathetic road condition connecting Kabui Khullen to Noney via Nagaching and Kabui Khullen to Phayeng Via Haochong road in Noney district.
The memorandum stated that the Kabui Khullen Village in Noney District, Manipur was the epicenter of the earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale on 4th January 2016.The villagers grow plenty of fruit plants, vegetables and are available in plenty.
Yongchak/ tree bean (Parkia timoriana) is one of the favourite dishes of Manipuri.
The place is famous for yongchak and also for orange, sandang (mithun), among many others.
However, it is very difficult to get there due to the pathetic condition of the road.
The village is not far away from Imphal.
Besides producing fruit in large quantity it is perilous to reach there because of the miserable road.
The region is one of the wetting places in Manipur, and there is no culvert in the route so, they faced a lot of difficulties since there is no outlet for the water coming from the streams.
In this regard, we will like to request your kind intervention to repair the routes connecting Kabi Khullen to Noney via Nagaching and Khabui Khullen to Phayeng via Hoachong Road.
AIMS urges the Governor to direct the concern department to take necessary action to repair the road connectivity as soon as possible.
