Imphal, June 09 2022:
Patsoi AC MLA, Sapam Kunjakishor (Keba) has appealed to all concerned to suspend the road expansion work of Imphal Jiri road and to resume the same after coming to an agreement with the Government.
The MLA made the above appeal while inspecting the road expansion work of the National Highway from Oriental College area till Yumlembam.
He expressed concern that the expansion measurement is only 60 feet and is not as per the 4 lane level.
He also said that National Highway and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL), which is taking up the road expansion work, has completed the construction of permanent drains inorder to start the process of black topping of the road.
However the expansion is not carried out as per the wish of the people who were expecting that the width of the road will be 100 feet as per the 4 lane level which is unfortunate, he added.
The MLA recalled that the residents along the road faced various problems when eviction work was done for the road expansion.
He also stated that he will write to the Ministry concerned of the Indian Government regarding the matter after consulting with the Chief Minister and Works Minister.
