Volunteers of local organisations and villagers of Heingang area have rescued two non-manipuris suspected to have been abducted for ransom.
The two named Muhamad Manwar Bakli (21) s/o Md Anupkali Tilaman Gaiheli of Bihar and Gougaram Balmiki (22) s/o Mansiram sonipam of Haryana were rescued from Heingang Mamang Ching (hill) at around 9.30 am today.
Both are currently residents of Nagamapal Kangjabi Leirak, said press source and conveyed of Heingang locals in large number scanning the nearby hills following unconfirmed information of the two being confined there by unknown persons.
Significantly a third non-Manipuri identified as Nishikanta Ghosh alias Shantu (24) s/o (L) Mitananda Ghosh, suspected to be involved in the capture of the two was also rounded up by the search party from the hillock.
Nishikanta, hails from Silchar of Assam but is presently staying at a rented quarter in North AOC area.
On disclosure of the two captives, Nishikanta along with 4/5 persons had picked Manwar and Gougaram from near Pandon on April 4 evening at around 6.30, the source maintained.
