The two injured persons are Sada alias Sadana (35), sister of Md Fazul Haque and Md Atapuddin (25) s/o late Abdul Rashid, both residents of Kshetri Mayai Leikai.
According to reports, the armed persons may have carried out the action in connection with the mysterious death of Md Boy alias Ithem, son of Jeinab Bibi, an elder sister of Md Fazul Haque, who died from bullet injuries on his head at JN Hospital where he was admitted for treatment at around 4.30 pm on March 29.Md Boy, a resident of Sora Langthabal was a member of the PLA.
There are some controversies over his death with some claiming that he shot himself to death at the house of Md Fazul while others contradicted it claiming that he was killed.
The police have also recovered the pistol 9 mm allegedly used by Md Boy from the crime spot.
All the four persons, namely, Md Fazul, his sister Sada alias Sadana, Md Munik and Md Atapuddin were reportedly summoned by the unidentified armed persons to come at Laphupokpi area at around 3.30 pm yesterday, in connection with the death of Md Boy.
The autorickshaw they were travelling in was stopped by the unidentified gunmen some distance away from Pangong Chingkhong.
They were made to alight from the autorickshaw and the driver was allowed to go while taking all four of them on foot toward the nearby hillock where all four of them were subjected to beating and questioning.
At around 2 pm, Md Atapuddin and Sada were handed over to the Meira Paibis of Pangong Makhong.
The Meira Paibis later handed the duo to the Muslim villagers settled on the other side of Iril river.
The unidentified gunmen also allegedly informed the family members that all the four persons have been handed over to the Meira Paibis.
When the family members and their neighbours went to the said Muslim village they found only Md Atapuddin and Sada being given medical attention in a house with no sign of the other two persons.
The two injured persons were immediately rushed to JN Hospital for treatment and subsequent search led to the recovery of Md Fazul and Md Munik lying dead atop the hillock.
