Protesting alleged absence of Zonal Education Officer and other clerical staffs of ZEO, Wangoi for prolong period over one hundred teachers under the ZEO sealed the office today.
The regular absentees include the Disbursing and Drawing Officer (DDO), the cashier and bill clerk besides the ZEO himself, charged some of the teachers who took part in the agitation.
According to the infuriated teachers irregular office attendance by the four have been impeding movement of files and failure to put up relevant documents to department authorities resulted in non-release of 14 percent DA arrears liable to the teachers.
One Ngangbam Ibohal, who identified himself as president of AMESTA, Wangoi unit claimed that communication gap between the ZEO and other subordinate staffs of the Office have severely affected smooth administration often leaving many teachers furious and in despair whenever official recommendation or perusal are needed.
Citing duty negligence of the ZEO and his staffs for uncertainty prevailing on when the salary for the month of February of the teachers would be released, Ibohal said the agitation would continue for an indefinite period and the matter will be highlighted to the Education Commissioner through the AMESTA unit.
